Independence Day Celebration

When:  Friday, June 30th, 2023 Starting at 5:00pm
Where:  Purcell Lake - 1400 Chandler Rd.  Purcell, OK  73080


Our yearly Independence Day Celebration was held at Purcell Lake with a combination of food, games, and fireworks!  The fireworks show is made possible through donations from the City of Purcell and fundraising by the Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce! Local businesses, organizations, and the citizens of our community help make our fireworks show a success every year!  

Different food trucks and booths set up at Chandler Pavilion on the south side of Purcell Lake, just across the road from the Purcell Multi-Purpose Center.

Rules:
--- Avoid the Launch Point for the Fireworks Show --- Private Fireworks are Not Permitted --- 
--- No Tobacco or Alcohol Use --- No Glass Bottles --- No Motor Vehicles on Lake Trails --- 
--- No Wake Lake --- Do Not Damage Grass Areas ---

Sand volleyball, beach swimming, fishing, and the Lake Trail are all at your disposal!

5:30PM - Car Show

The Independence Day Celebration Car Show will open registration at 5:30pm at the Weaver Pavilion. 

  • Registration opens at 5:30pm.
  • $20.00 entry fee per vehicle registered in the show.  
  • Picks for awards will start at 7:00pm. Awards at 8:00pm
  • The car show will feature a 50/50 Cash Raffle - $1.00 per Ticket

7:00PM - Basketball Tournament at the Multi-Purpose Center

The 2nd Annual Independence Day Free Throw Contest and Basketball Tournament will be at the Multi-Purpose Center starting at 7:00pm. The free throw contest and tournament are free to enter. The event is sponsored by TSET Healthy Living Program serving McClain County, Walmart Purcell, Happy Camper Cafe, Duk n Buck Outfitters, and E6 Outfitters!

The Free Throw Contest will begin at 7:00pm. The contest will be divided by the 8 to 14 Year Old Division, and 15 and Up Division.

The 3 VS 3 Tournament will begin at 10:00pm, right after the fireworks display. 8-teams total.

There are three ways to register:

9:45PM Fireworks

The fireworks show originates from the northeast corner of the lake where the lake dam meets the cemetery.  Come out to the lake, pick a nice spot, and enjoy the show!
